About Me
I’ve lived and worked as an American in Grenoble, France for nearly ten years. I moved to France from the “Silicon Valley,” south of San Francisco, California, with the goal of experiencing life outside of these United States.
Well, life “outside” includes learning another language, another way of doing business, and developing a whole new network of friends and professional contacts.
I brought along my passion for clear technical and business communications, my 20 years of aerospace engineering and business experience in California, added 10 years’ more international business experience in France, and have created a portfolio of expertise that I apply through long-and-short-term contract work, consulting, training, and teaching.
My unique perspective comes from an understanding of the international technical and business environment.
Internationally speaking, our common language is English, but good communication requires more than good grammar – it requires an understanding of the message and its desired effect on the intended recipient, and these are colored by technical/scientific culture, national culture, and corporate culture.

I “speak geek”
Technical content fascinates me and I keep working on it until I understand it well enough to explain it to someone else. That someone else may be a user, or a potential client, or the boss’ boss’ boss.
My skills at navigating among the realms of technology and science, Europe and North America, international and local, and internal and external business communications are available to you.

…and if I can’t help you, my professional networks may help you find just the expertise you’re seeking.
