Writing and Editing

English is a wonderful language.  It’s rich in vocabulary, flexible, and used around the world.  Of course, with all those words to choose from - including multiple lexicons of technical jargon – sometimes we get confusion instead of clarity.

Understanding the audience AND the message is key to effective written communications.  Technical, non-technical, scientific, European, international, American…all have unique characteristics.

I write original marketing materials, newsletters, and journal articles,
and edit scientific and technical web sites, papers, and publications.

I also do mechanical and aerospace engineering translations from French to English.

Here are a few {fun} examples of what I’ve written:

Technical translations

  • SolidiTice materials science web site (I supervised engineering students’ translations of a French web site – the translations are theirs, not mine, but they did a fine job and I’m proud of their work!)
  • Clininfo web site (French site translated into English)

Books, nonfiction

“This book is written in a warm but engaging style. It is clear, concise and directly to the point. It takes a subject that intimidates many people and breaks it into easily digestible steps.”  – from Amazon.com reader reviews

Original non-technical articles

(Much of my best business writing is the property of my clients – sorry I can’t share!)
