Writing and Editing
English is a wonderful language. It’s rich in vocabulary, flexible, and used around the world. Of course, with all those words to choose from - including multiple lexicons of technical jargon – sometimes we get confusion instead of clarity.
Understanding the audience AND the message is key to effective written communications. Technical, non-technical, scientific, European, international, American…all have unique characteristics.
I write original marketing materials, newsletters, and journal articles,
and edit scientific and technical web sites, papers, and publications.

Here are a few {fun} examples of what I’ve written:
Technical translations
-
SolidiTice materials science web site (I supervised engineering students’ translations of a French web site – the translations are theirs, not mine, but they did a fine job and I’m proud of their work!)
-
Clininfo web site (French site translated into English)
Books, nonfiction
-
Focused Networking, The Eight Principles of 21st Century Marketing, for Lisa Bentson
“This book is written in a warm but engaging style. It is clear, concise and directly to the point. It takes a subject that intimidates many people and breaks it into easily digestible steps.” – from Amazon.com reader reviews
Original non-technical articles
- France Magazine - “A Welcome in the Hillside,” February 2002
- Go English - numerous articles on current events, American culture for a French readership
- What to wear to the White House?
- The real American hamburger
- a tidy lawn is a joy to behold
- The Anglophones – news and features for an international readership
- the Women’s Professional Networking Group in Lyon
(Much of my best business writing is the property of my clients – sorry I can’t share!)
